Lac Hong University Multimedia Communications Students Explore Art Exhibitions to Enhance Creative Thinking

Learning Through Real-World Experience for Comprehensive Development

Beyond traditional classroom lectures, Multimedia Communications students at Lac Hong University (LHU) regularly take part in extracurricular activities and field trips designed to expand their professional knowledge and cultivate creative thinking.

Recently, students visited two prominent art spaces in Ho Chi Minh City: the "Sắc Son Thời Gian" (Vibrant Traces of Time) exhibition at TAA Gallery and the contemporary photography exhibition "Trầm Tích của Ánh Sáng" (Sediments of Light) at CHILLALA – House of Art. This initiative aligns with the university's applied learning framework, bridging theory with practice to help students immerse themselves in creative environments and gain fresh perspectives on visual arts.

Experiencing Art to Nurture Creative Thinking

At TAA Gallery, students explored the values of traditional Vietnamese lacquer art, examining how color palettes, material textures, and compositions are utilized to convey meaningful narratives. Meanwhile, the "Sediments of Light" exhibition at CHILLALA – House of Art offered multidimensional insights into contemporary photography, highlighting themes of identity, memory, culture, and intercultural dialogue in a global context.

Directly engaging with and analyzing these artworks allows students to understand visual storytelling techniques more deeply. It also sharpens their critical analysis, content creation, and aesthetic judgment—essential core competencies for future careers in media, design, photography, advertising, and digital content production.

A Dynamic, Practice-Oriented Learning Environment

The Multimedia Communications program at Lac Hong University follows an experiential learning model. Alongside academic coursework, students frequently participate in:

  • - Industry field trips to enterprises, media studios, and creative spaces.

  • - Art, photography, and design exhibitions.

  • - Hands-on workshops led by media industry professionals.

  • - Real-world project executions, creative competitions, and enriching extracurricular activities.

Notable student-led projects and achievements include:

  • - The short film project "Hạ" (Summer) produced by second-year students.

  • - First-year students operating a practical studio model to directly manage and execute graduation photoshoot projects for senior classes.

  • - Event operation and media coverage for the Long Khanh & Tran Bien Countdown 2026.

  • - Student participation in the MMT Challenge photography competition.

  • ...along with numerous other practical initiatives.

These hands-on experiences empower students not only to strengthen their domain expertise but also to refine essential soft skills—including communication, teamwork, critical thinking, visual observation, and adaptability in professional work settings.
